Just about everyday I say to my husband, “How did we get so lucky?” There still might be a lot on our wish list, but we are incredibly blessed with four fantastic children. When it comes to decorating for St. Patrick’s Day, I couldn’t think of a better way to add some family fun to our decor than with pictures of those kiddos. After a silly photo shoot, complete with green mustaches and rainbow lollipops, I created this chicken wire piece:
I pulled my favorite green embellishments and papers from the Citrus Bliss collection, as well as a little bit from Atlas. After matting my photos, I began creating tags and cards with the patterned papers, frames, die-cuts, and wood veneer. I love this particular tag. I layered paper, die-cuts and some gold thread and sequins from my own stash onto a shipping tag. My little Addie loved her lollipop!
This tag is also a favorite. The clear acrylic tag is printed with gold triangles and the perfect home for the first part of my title: lucky us.
I wanted to add a rainbow to my collection of tags, so I used this chipboard sticker from the Atlas collection. Because the airplane at the end of these colored arcs didn’t coordinate with my theme, I simply covered it up with a photo. With a little creativity, stretching your supplies to cover other themes is easy.
Once my tags were complete, I attached them to the framed chicken wire with safety pins, plain mini clothespins, and gold-glittered clothespins. When it’s time to decorate for the next holiday, I can simply remove the tags, put them in safe keeping, then use the chicken wire for another project.
Thank you for checking out my first project for the Pink Paislee blog! I am excited to be here and I hope that you are inspired to change up your chipboard and create some home decor. Have a wonderful day!
