My name is Katharina Frei and I am super excited to be able to share my creative work here on the Pink Paislee blog. I’m living in Switzerland with my husband of 10 years and our two sons (7 and 8). I started to paper craft in 2007 when it came to creating invitation cards for our sons baptism and never stopped since. Memory keeping became my creative outlet soon afterwards, I love to document our family story with paper, stamps and embellishments. I also create lots of colorful home decoration pieces like banners, picture frames, different shapes made of heavy cardboard and ‘in the hoop’ art. I hope you like my style and that I will be able to inspire you to try something new with the beautiful Pink Paislee products.
Katharina’s Designs for Pink Paislee Featuring Citrus Bliss Collection
When I first saw the fantastic pack of Citrus Bliss empheras I knew instantly that I wanted to put them in the spotlight on my first layout.
I chose either stitching or my tiny attacher to adhere the clear shapes to the paper. This way I avoided ugly glue blobs.
We took the picture during our trip to Disneyland in Paris, which was one of our most favourite family trips. Our boys loved it so much and told me that it was the best vacation ever -> therefore the title, which I wrote myself with a brush and black watercolor paint.
You and Me:
I absolutely wanted to use the darling pink flamingo acetate for my next layout. Isn’t it the cutest? ♥
This page is all about my eldest son an me. We have a very close relationship and he loves to craft, cook and play with me. I feel so lucky and enjoy every second of it!
Happy Place (In the Hoop Home Decoration Art):
Embroidery hoops are such a fun way to create scrapped elements to decorate your home. There are so many ways to alter the frames it-selves (paint them, use glitter or washi tape to decorate them, wrap them with twine or fabric, to name a few).
I decided to leave the hoop as it was. I cut the background paper to shape and decorated it before adhering it to the hoop. I hand stitched the large circle with bakers twine and added lots of die-cut butterflies for the right spring feeling I designed the large “happy” on my computer and cut it with scissors after printing it.
I also wanted to create a smaller hoop to complement the main one. The beautiful Citrus Bliss papers match the embellishments perfectly, which made it easy to imitate sun rays. I love how these two hoops turned out!
Altered vintage book – Sunshine:
This mini book project was on my to do list for quite some time. The huge amount of Citrus Bliss gorgeousness gave me the right motivation to get it started AND completed I just need to add pictures after our summer vacation. What a precious keepsake this will be!
I started with covering an old book with white acrylic paint. It needed two layers of paint for an even look.
After the drying time, I decorated the outside with Citrus Bliss die cuts, wood veneers, alphabet and papers. The book looked so cute already, it made my heart happy.
Time to start with the inside of the book. I carefully removed a lot of pages. This way it wouldn’t become too bulky. It was so much fun to create the inside pages, I could hardly stop. That’s why the finished book turned out to be quite bulky nevertheless
Thank you everybody for joining me today here on the Pink Paislee blog. I had so much fun creating with the Citrus Bliss collection!! Wishing you a lovely day!
