Every summer I have grand plans to keep a visual journal/planner for our trips and fun activities. Every year I fail. Part of the reason may be that I don’t have a plan. I have a blank journal and a lot of ideas that fizzle out as the business of summer starts. This yer I have the same blank journal and ideas. The difference is that I am already working on it. I have the cover done, tags in place and a list of things I want to record. This year I have the supplies I want to use in one place instead of scattered in all of the boxes of pretty things on the floor around my table. Here’s hoping that being prepared will help me stay on track.
my supplies: My journal is a lined Moleskine Cahier that was originally to be an actual daily journaler. Another idea that fizzled out. It is getting a facelift in order to prep for summer. I guess you could say that this is a bit of a planner as well as a journal for me. I don’t have specific dates for things but will be adding a calendar for the beginning of each month with tentative plans in the boxes. Another to-do for this week. (Keep in mind while cutting the outer part of the cover that you need to make it a little wider and longer. There needs to be room at the fold to move without tearing the paper and there needs to be enough to wrap to the inside of the book so it can be glued down.)
the final product:
I loved this little pocket at the back of the notebook and decided to add the paper in a way that I could still use it. I just measured and cut the paper to fit over the top of the pocket instead of the whole back cover.
