For those of us in the States it is just about Thanksgiving. In just a few days from now we will be indulging in wonderful, traditional food, laughing with family, and enjoying time with friends. It’s that time when I am more purposeful about focusing on thankfulness and gratitude. Sharing that vision with my girlies, I created mini comp book size journals made from all things Cedar Lane. Let me show you what I did, and then how I did them.
These little booklets are created with Cedar Lane Pattern Paper covers.
Each individually embellished with Ephemera that I chose to customize for each daughter.
Each is adorned with a Feather Paper Clip to keep the little books closed in between entries.
Here’s how these came together:
1. Trim pattern paper to 7 x 5 1/2-inches
2. Fold pattern paper in half so the mini book now measures 3 1/2-inches by 5 1/2-inches tall.
3. For the insert pages, use copy paper. Trim these to 7 x 5 1/2-inches. I used 6 sheets creating 12 pages.
4. Fold copy paper in half and slip inside cover stock. Staple at fold.
Round the corners to give the books a completed look. For this little gem I trimmed out a journal cut away card from the Market Square paper. This is popped up on the book with dimensional adhesive. An Ephemera arrow adds interest to the card while a glittered acorn is clipped on with a mini clip.
Love that ‘grateful’ die cut from the Ephemera. It is popped up on the book with a Puffy Sticker and a Word Jumble Sticker added to a pattern paper circle. Simple. But so cutey!
Lastly that little Puffy Sticker fox…with a Gold Glittler Foam heart added for cuteness…my daughter spied this and geeked out a little over that little foxy.
And that’s it. That’s how easy it is to help yourself, as well as a loved one document the season, or any time of year for that matter. These would make great little hostess gifts as well. Enjoy the simplicity of making these mini books, and have fun making them individual for your recipient.
