We have officially crossed the half-month mark and fast approaching year end. The month of December can get extremely overwhelming and the days just seem too short! There are days when there’s absolutely no eventful incidents to document into my December Journal. Fret not! Memory keeping should be spontaneous and meaningful. Especially so in the last month of the year when we say goodbye to the current year. So much nostalgia this season.
In my entry to Day 18, I decided to document our family’s current favourite Christmas Hymns and Carols. This year, we discovered a cool singing group and I decided it had to be journaled and documented into this year’s December Journal. It’ll fun to look back in retrospect a few years down and reminisce good old songs and see how our own music taste and style has changed.
So, over the course of the month, I’ve included some long journaling, thoughts etc. Some days I have shorter journaling. Some days have more pictures than the other. Part of my process here for this journal, is looking for one short story (or picture) each day.
Here, besides documenting our family’s current Christmas playlist, the essential snap shot of the Christmas tree and decorations took centre stage on one of the pages on Day 18.
Tell the snippets of stories that are true to you and your family life right now. Capture and celebrate the season as it evolves everyday. It is really a wonderful opportunity to look for beauty in your daily life and give thanks for the whole of it before the new year begins.
After writing down the details and adhering the photo, the next fun part would be to embellish the pages! With the help of puffy stickers and ephemera from Yuletide Collection, it is always a breeze.
