Have you ever made a necklace out of chunky, colorful beads? That’s exactly what inspired me to make this pair of Fancy Free cards:
I started with the Fancy Free paper that is a grid of different patterns.
I cut apart the squares and rolled half of them into little tubes. Next, I cut them into quarters to create paper beads.
I strung the paper beads on white embroidery floss, securing the ends of each strand behind my cardstock card front. When I was finished with the card front, I secured it to a card base.
I left some space on each garland so that the beads could move as the cards are tilted. Adding such a tactile and playful touch makes these extra fun and interactive. It’s also a great way to combine a lot of patterns!
If you’d like to see a tutorial for making the paper beads, tune in to Periscope, @PrecociousPaper, on Friday, April 1st at 1:00 pm Pacific. I’ll show you the cards in action and just how easy it is to create your own paper beads with the gorgeous Fancy Free collection. Have a wonderful day!
