Raquel here today with you sharing a layout I created featuring the Fancy Free collection! All week on the blog you will find projects featuring flowers.
For this layout today and a theme of flowers, I just knew I had to fussy cut the beautiful floral paper from the collection and make a feature of it.
I decided to use white cardstock from American Crafts as my base. I then cut a circle from the pink/peach white spot paper. I added detail to the circle by adding a 1″vellum fringe around the circumference of the circle. I created this fringe by cutting 12″ strips of vellum and cutting a fringe into it using my fringe scissors. I them adhered it around the curved edge of the circle.
This layout is documenting a gorgeous photo of my little girl. It is one of those ‘just because’ layouts. These kinds of layouts are some of my favourite to create. I matted my photo on some plain vellum and then on a pink patterned paper from the collection. I added a doily of course.
I arranged the fussy cut flowers in a horizontal design to the left and right of the photo. I adhered some flat to the page and some using foam tape for added detail and dimension. To make the leaves pop off the page I stitched through the centre and folded them inwards.
To the left of the page and the floral cluster I added the ampersand wood veneer, a button, some stickers, and punched out butterflies.
To the right side of the page I added one of the cute buttons, some more stickers, and punched out butterflies.
The title ‘cherish’ is from the glitter Thickers pack and is layered on top of a tag and some other ephemera and stickers from various embellishment packs in the collection. The page was finished with some ‘blush’ Heidi Swapp Colorshine.
Stay tuned this week to see how our other design team members feature flowers this week!
