Hello again Pink Paislee and Thickers fans! It’s so much fun to scrapbook events while they are fresh in your mind, don’t you agree? That’s exactly what I did here: I scrapbooked my daughter’s 8th birthday only a couple of days after the very day! Winning! Eight year old girls love anything pink and anything sparkly so the Fancy Free collection was PERFECT! Read on to see how I used almost an entire package of Thickers to create my layout background…
In the Fancy Free collection there are the most gorgeous glitter Thickers in such fun words, phrases, and designs! I used the Thickers to create a circle feature on my background and it was so easy to do!
I started with a circle of cardstock as a template and a piece of waxed paper covering it. I arranged my Thickers all over the circle, on the waxed paper so I could move them around if I needed to. I started with the larger words and filled in the gaps with the smaller icons. I also knew where my photo would be placed before doing this, so no words were hidden under the photo.
I then trimmed around the circle so any Thickers that were hanging over the edge were cut. I carefully transferred the design to my cardstock background and that part was done!
I continued to finish my layout with the photo, embellishments, and journaling, keeping it quite minimal so the background design takes centre stage.
I’m thrilled with the finished layout and I can guarantee that I’ll be trying this technique with Thickers again in the future! If you love a product that much, make it a feature on your layout! That will be my motto from now on!
