It’s Ashley and I’m here today to wrap up Mother’s Week! The official day for Mother’s Day is coming up in two days, but I think most of us agree that we can celebrate mothers any day of the year. You can create a mother-themed layout any time of the year, with any mother-themed photos. We just happened to be in New York at Niagara Falls last year on Mother’s Day, so I made sure my hubby snapped a photo of me with the kids. I wanted to use the photo with the Fancy Free collection, so I decided it would be best to edit it to a black & white photo.
The Fancy Free collection is so full of bright colors that I knew the black & white photo would be a good contrast. I used white cardstock for my base since I knew I would be using several of the patterned papers to create my title. I just had to incorporate the large geometric heart from one of the Paige Kits and I decided to cut it in half and place it on the right hand side of the page. Then I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a large quote for the title of my layout, using eight different patterned papers from the collection.
Once all of the words were cut, I arranged them to the left of the heart. I placed the photo to connect the title and heart shape together. And, of course, I had to add some of the cute embellishments from the Fancy Free collection to my layout. I clustered a few embellishments near the photo to help it stand out from the background. Then I used some of the adorable buttons, along with the wood veneers and Thickers, to embellish the title.
So don’t forget to snap a photo of you and your kids this Mother’s Day or one of you and your mom! But if you miss the chance, don’t worry, you can still create an amazing mother-themed layout, using any photos from throughout the year!
Hopefully I’ve inspired you today with some ideas on how to use those photos on a mother-themed layout! Happy Mother’s Day!!
