Hi all! It’s Ashley and I’m excited to share one of my first projects using the new Outfitters collection! I will admit that I’m not what you would consider an outdoorsy girl, but this collection makes me want to go on an adventure! We took a day trip to Tannehill State Park in Alabama last year and I knew the photos would be perfect in a mini album created with the Outfitters collection.
As soon as I opened the Outfitters ephemera pack, I knew I would be using the fun tags to build the pages for my mini album. In addition to the tags, I cut some of the 3×4 designs from the 01 patterned paper. And there are so many great embellishments with the Outfitters collection… badges, tags, puffy stickers, and paper stickers. I love the variety of texture in the mini album created with a mix of the different embellishments.
My favorite thing about this type of mini album is how easy it is to customize. I have a few tutorial photos to share with you, showing how easy this project is to put together. It would even be a great activity with your children to have them document some of their favorite photos.
Step 1: Cut several of the 3×4 designs from the 01 Outfitters patterned paper. You can also cut some of the regular 12×12 patterned papers at a 3×4 size to add in your album as base pages.
Step 2: Place the 3×4 cut papers back-to-back and add just a bit of adhesive to hold them together.
Step 3: Machine stitch around the edges of the two papers put together. If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can hand stitch or just leave the edges un-stitched.
Step 4: Once all of your base pages are put together, use a hole puncher to punch a hole in the top center. Make sure you line up the hole on all of your base pages so they will fit on a binder ring.
Step 5: Finish your mini album with a handmade tassel attached to the binder ring. I used a brown cord for my tassel to complement the look of the Outfitters collection.
There are so many possibilities for projects with the Outfitters collection! I hope I’ve inspired you with a couple of ideas to create something fun!
