Tavel: Guest Designer – Laureen Wagener

I am so thrilled to introduce our Travel week guest designer, Laureen Wagener! Find her on instagram @madamerosenrot and her YouTube channel!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how did you get started scrapbooking? Besides scrapbooking I am usually studying Primary School Teaching with English but am currently taking a break from university because I was going through chemotherapy to fight against cancer, but got the most amazing call from my doctor at the end of June that I am in complete remission {talk about a happy – grinning like the Cheshire Cat girl!!}. I discovered scrapbooking in 2013 and for whatever reason only made a few pages and then got into cardmaking. I rediscovered scrapbooking in March 2016 shortly after I got my cancer diagnosis and it helped me rock through the tough days when chemo really hit. Scrapbooking helped me focus on something different other than cancer and it always makes me feel great!

What is your favorite Pink Paislee product? Buttons – I love the buttons in Fancy Free and Take Me Away and have gone through several packs of those. Besides that I am always down for patterned paper and ephemera.

5 fun facts about you:
1. I am a series junkie! I love to binge watch shows, especially those typical girl ones like Desperate Housewives, Gossip Girl, Sex and the City, and Grey’s Anatomy.
2. Harry Potter is my huge love affair – I love everything Harry Potter and it would be amazing to go to Universal Studios in Orlando just because of Harry Potter World.
3. My all time favorite city is Paris – the smell, the noise – everything makes me feel warm inside when I am in that city.
4. I love the language French and would love to speak it fluently – I however can say that I love cheese.
5. Disney is my passion – I absolutely love watching the movies and singing along – even though I am pretty bad at it.

I love stitching on my projects and backing die cuts with patterned paper. For this layout I combined the two, backed the cut file and stitched around it.

As soon as I saw the Outfitters collection I knew I had to use that picture of my best friend from her trip to Sweden – the cut file combined with the papers
adds a perfect background element.

Cardmaking is one of my biggest loves – I started with cards and love to go back to it! There is just something so special about a handmade card to give to loved ones.

That picture of the very old “house” just matched perfectly with the papers from Outfitters! I stitched down each of the shapes to add more texture to the layout.

When I saw Elizabeth Gardner’s guest designer post for Fancy Free her album got me hooked – I took Paige’s online class for Coptic Binding and just had to make my own version of a coptic bound book. I am planning on using this as an “Adventure Book” to journal about the trips I make – sort of a Travelogue.

Thank you so much for joining us today and getting to know Laureen!
