As a scrapbooker, I find making cards is an exercise in my creativity! I love having the smaller “canvas” to play on and it’s perfect for trying out new techniques. It’s Gail here today to share a couple of cards I created with a leaves theme and plenty of cheer!
For the first card, I wanted to have a play with texture paste over one of the simple patterned paper backgrounds in the Take Me Away collection. I cut out some small solid leaf shapes out of white cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo to create my own stencil. I then placed it over the paper and applied white texture paste over the top.
I then added some embellishments over the top such as buttons, die cut leaves backed with patterned paper, and my sentiment. A few flicks of gold mist finished it off perfectly!
For my second card, I wanted to use the gorgeous leaves from the foam Thickers. I spent a few minutes arranging them on a patterned paper background, adding some small hearts to fill in any gaps.
By combining some chipboard letters and a tag from the ephemera pack, I created my sentiment “Be Happy” to finish off the card!
The bright colors and cheery sentiments on these cards are sure to bring a smile to the recipient’s face!
