There is something very special about documenting the fall. Especially around here. It’s such a beautiful time of year. Even though the color change indicates that winter is upon us, it’s a time to simply relish the beauty that is autumn and fall in love with the outdoors all over again.
I took advantage of these photos of a local trip to Cripple Creek. It’s just the place to day trip in the months of September or October here in the Rockies. The woods are filled with aspen and every scene is absolutely brilliant.
Cedar Lane is one of my favorite collections to use for this changing season.
The gold Thickers “today” was a brilliant center piece that highlighted how much I completely loved this day.
This page layout utilized a photo template as there were lots of photos I wanted to included in this story. And because the focus was the leaves, I took to adding a few embellishment clusters that included die cut leaves. Like with the ‘best friends’ and hearts ephemera. Tucking a little cut leaf in that mix gave great texture plus focus on the theme.
Knowing I was going to use leaves for this page, I simply cut several sheets of patterned paper on my Eclips2 machine. This gave me a great assortment of leaf pattern and shape. It allowed for plenty of cut leaves to choose from while in the making of this page. I think it’s always a good idea to cut more then you think you will use. It’s good to have plenty of an assortment when you know you are going to be using lots of cuts on a page design.
A few notes written down about this day is what finished this page for me.
I love fall. I love the stories found in the adventures that surround fall. I love telling that story with pretty paper, digital cuts, and words to help me remember the moment.
