I have this vintage receipt holder in a collage on my living room wall year-round. Usually it’s empty, but I’ll occasionally tuck in a favorite photo or journaling card. However, when I saw the rich blues and pretty pinks of the Moonstruck collection, I knew I had to really dress up my receipt holder:
I printed two recent photos at 4 x 4 and matted them with white cardstock. I added stickers directly to the photos, then started choosing die cuts, journaling cards, and bits of patterned paper to tuck around the photos.
I added a jewelry charm to one of the holders inspired by the flowers and gorgeous blues in Moonstruck. I also used my Silhouette Cameo to die cut a large butterfly.
I tucked another butterfly – fussy cut from a journaling card – in this holder. Perched on another card and this paper doily, it brings out the vintage vibe of the whole piece.
By not securing all the layers together, I can easily slip things out, change things up, and edit as the seasons and holidays change. The gorgeous Moonstruck collection will stay a centerpiece, though! Have I mentioned how much I love these blues?
If your home decor calls for some blue, or for a vintage touch, I encourage you to try a receipt holder with your favorite Moonstruck pieces. Happy creating!
