Hey everyone, it’s Raquel here with you today sharing a fun tutorial for Rub On week here on the Pink Paislee blog. In today’s post I am going to show you how you can adapt a fun free printable calendar with the Moonstruck collection, to create a stunning and functional piece of desk decor.
To create this desktop calendar you will need an A5 sized clipboard, a printer, and paper (I used 4×6″ photo paper), the Moonstruck rub ons, and washi tape.
To begin with I downloaded the free Minimal Calendar from the Foreign Rooftops website and printed it out using my photo printer on 4×6″ photo paper. Here is what it looks like before adding any embellishments.
My first step was to add rub ons to the top right of the months on each calendar card. I chose rub ons that would fit neatly within that blank space.
I wanted to keep the look of this calendar minimalistic so I simply added a small strip of washi from the Moonstruck washi sheets to the bottom of the calendar page which coordinated with the rub on I chose.
If the month contained a particular event – like Valentines in February, I chose a heart to complement the month. I even added a small heart rub on to the actual date of Valentine’s Day within the calendar.
It’s my birthday in the month of March and I wanted to think of a way to mark any birthdays on this calendar too. So for my birthday and important family birthdays I have added one of the small circle rub ons from the Moonstruck pack.
The rub on pack had so many choices means that for each month I was able to create a totally different look.
I was surprised by how beautifully the rub ons applied to the photo paper.
Here is a quick look at the entire calendar all embellished.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial to create a desktop calendar for your 2017 year!
