Hey everyone, it’s Raquel here with you today sharing a new and fun Valentines project that you can create easily at home with only a few materials.
Here is what I made to share with you today ‘You Make Me *Glow*’ – glowstick Valentines:
Below are the materials which I gathered to use for this project (I have listed only what I used); Paper 10 from the Oh My Heart collection, plain vellum, a packet of glowsticks, fussy cut flowers, heart charms, and doilies.
The first step I did was to cut many hearts from Paper 10 in the collection. This paper is perfect for projects like this as it allows you to have multiple patterns and colours from the one sheet. I cut my approximately 2″ hearts on my Silhouette Cameo, but this process could be even quicker if you have a 2″ heart punch.
I then decided that I wanted my Valentine project to have some dimension so I added a vellum heart underneath the patterned paper one and stitched through them both to secure them together. This allowed me to fold the top heart inwards to add dimension but also serves a functional purpose too.
I punched out a hole in the top and bottom of a small doily and threaded the glowstick through. It was then time to add my stitched heart, a fussy cut floral, one of the heart charms tied onto the stick and finishing with a vellum banner with a typed Valentines sentiment on it. These little Valentines just make my heart happy, they’re so cute and my daughter loved them!
I then, a little like a production line, made more just choosing the different heart patterns, charms, and fussy cut florals.
Here are some of them all lined up, the Oh My Heart is the perfect bright and fun collection for these cute DIY Valentines!
I hope this post has given you a fun little Valentines idea that you can easily replicate at home. I couldn’t leave this post without sharing a picture of my little helper for this project.
