Hello Pink Paislee friends! So happy to be here today to share a new layout made with my Oh My Heart collection!
I am so glad I hoarded some border punches – what goes around comes around! I wanted a fun way to share all of the different patterns and colors in Paper 12 from Oh My Heart and when I was digging through my punches box I found a few different ones to use. I started by trimming all of the different patterns from Paper 12 into strips and then punched each one into a fancy border. After grouping the papers by color I layered them down a kraft cardstock base.
To add more texture and dimension, I sewed the paper pieces down with a sewing machine using matching colors of thread and then ruffled up the edges.
When it came time to add the photo, I placed it on the top left side and them embellished with the color-on-color technique – definitely a go-to for me!
I typed a sentence of journaling, printed and trimmed it out, then added it next to the photo.
For the last step I dropped white paint in three places to create a visual triangle and help draw the eye all around the layout.
Check out the process video I made showing how this layout came to be:
Do you still have some border punches hanging around gathering dust? Brush them off and put them to good use and make a fun and eye-catching layout with Oh My Heart!
