Hello scrappy friends and happy Friday! Today I wanted to share a layout that features the stamp set in the Oh My Heart collection!
I don’t consider myself a stamper per se, so it was a fun challenge to try and use the stamp set in a way other than what it was intended (journaling and list-making!)
To begin, I die cut a large ampersand from white cardstock and then used it as a stencil, or rather, a reverse stencil since I used the positive ampersand on another piece of white cardstock.
Then I pulled out all the colors of ink pads that I thought matched Oh My Heart. I picked one stamp from the set and stamped it a few times in every color all over the ampersand, trying to space it evenly around the page.
I repeated that step with every stamp in the set and then went back and filled in any spaces. It was kind of like playing Tetris trying not to overlap the stamping and get them into the given space!
Then I traced the die cut ampersand very lightly with a pencil, removed it, pierced a hole every few millimeters, and backstitched through using white thread to help the ampersand stand out and give it texture.
Next came the photo, title, journaling, and embellishments! You can watch how that was done in my start-to-finish process video:
I hope that you are inspired to use the Oh My Heart stamps in a fun and creative way! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!
