Valentines: Be Mine Banner

Get creative and turn a non-Valentine themed collection, into a Valentine decorative banner you'll love! @pinkpaislee @ahorton #ohmyheart #valentines

Love is in the air and Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! It’s Ashley Horton and I’m back with you today sharing an easy Valentine’s banner that would be a perfect addition to your Valentine’s Day decor. I used the Oh My Heart collection, which isn’t a Valentine-themed collection, but it has colors and embellishments that work great for Valentine’s Day!

This is an easy project to put together and if your kids love crafting, you could even get them to help out. Here’s how I created my banner:

Step 1: Use pre-made banner shapes or design your own and cut with your electronic die cut machine. I designed my own shapes and created a tab at the top of each one to fold over the twine that would hold my banner.

Step 2: Choose various patterned papers from the Pink Paislee collection you are using and back each of the letters on your banner.

Step 3: Fold the tabs at the top of your banner and flip them over to add a bit of adhesive along the edge. This will keep your shapes secure for the next step.

Step 4: If you have a sewing machine, stitch through the top of your banner shapes to secure them to the twine you are using to hold your banner.

Step 5: Use a circle punch to punch shapes from your patterned papers to create a decorative scallop look around each banner shape. I used a 1.5 inch circle punch. Once your circles are punched, cut each one in half.

Step 6: Add a small amount of adhesive to the edge of your half circle and place it behind the banner shape. Make sure you add the adhesive to the side of the paper that you want to show on your banner. Add the half circles behind your banner shape to create the scallop look. It took 5 half circles to complete my design. Once you have all of them in place, you can machine stitch around the edge of your banner shape.

Step 7: Look through the Pink Paislee collection you are using and choose the embellishments you want to use to complete the look of your banner.
