Spotlight: Elsie Robinson

Hey Pink Paislee friends! It’s Elsie Robinson here and I’m so excited to be sharing my first ever project as part of the Pink Paislee DT. I thought I would kick things off with a good old-fashioned layout, my favourite! Let me talk you through it.

This photo of my brothers and I on the back of an old steam train is one of those very photos. It was taken on my parent’s old film camera and just has a beautiful and timeless quality to it, which I think is why I’ve been holding on to it for so long.

I think the bright colours and patchwork vibes of the Oh My Heart collection reminded me of home, and suitcases are kind of little homes away from home, right?!

How cute is that little orange fox pattern on the top suitcase? (FYI, if someone out there wants to make a suitcase that looks like that, I would be very grateful!)

Talking of the title, I found it on Pinterest, and it works as a perfect gentle reminder to myself that whilst new beginnings can bring a certain amount of fear and apprehension, there are some really exciting adventures in store for me this year and I shouldn’t put any limitations on myself – the sky’s the limit!

The ombre paper worked perfectly as a background because it didn’t have any matching colour tones with the papers I used for the suitcases. This really helped the suitcases stand out, as I wanted them and the photo to be the main focal point of the layout. I think it also kind of looks like the night sky!
