The new 4th of July collection from Pink Paislee called Sweet Freedom is hands down my favorite Independence Day collection EVER! I love its shabby feel, “buffalo plaid”, and western vibes!
One of the star die cuts in the ephemera pack was the inspiration for this layout – I loved the divided sections of the stars and wanted to mimic that look with patterned papers.
Once I cut all the patterned papers from the 6×6 paper pad, it still felt a little flat. So what’s a girl to do? Add some stitching of course!
Once each section of the star had a bit of stitching, it helped bring the star to life and helped it pop off the background.
Naturally, I chose a family photo of us on the 4th of July. Our red, white, and blue color scheme matches the colors in this collection perfectly and now one of my favorite memories is forever documented.
This layout actually went all the way to CHA in Phoenix and back to me in Germany before I decided to add the navy blue ink splatters! I just felt like the layout need a little something extra and I think the dark paint splatters help create balance.
I created a process video sharing how this layout was made from start-to-finish if you fancy watching!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you’re inspired to use the new Sweet Freedom collection!
