I don’t know about you but I love stamping. Stamps are such fun and versatile supplies that you can keep using over and over to get completely different results on your projects. Today I’m going to show you how to create a DIY stamped title using letter stencils.
Now don’t be alarmed if you don’t have a stencil in your stash for this technique, there are a few ways to go around it. You can cut out your own stencil using your favorite letter dies or your Silhouette. Another fun alternative is to use the 12×12 die-cut piece from the Take Me Away Paige kit.
Just tape the die-cut design on top of a piece of white cardstock and pick your favorite colors of ink. For this page I followed a rainbow order for my stamping but you can play around with different styles to create an ombre effect, go monochromatic, or randomly scatter the colors around. The stamp I used is the lovely flower design that was included in the Oh My Heart stamp set.
Once all the letters are filled, you can lift your stencil and reveal the magic. To help the letters stand out, I squished a bit of each ink out on my acrylic block and diluted it with a bit of water to create a light wash over my stamping. Then with a pair of scissors I fussy cut all the letters.
I used a beautiful sheet of patterned paper from the Sweet Freedom collection as my background and added a thin layer of gesso in the middle. Then I placed all the letters on top of the gessoed area, close together to fit nicely.
To embellish the page I followed the colors of the stamping and found coordinating elements. Some buttons, die-cut flowers, and puffy stickers worked beautifully to accent my bold title.
I really hope that you enjoyed this idea and you will give it a go! I’m sure that the results will be stunning!
