I always like to document a family photo for Mother’s Day, whether it was actually taken on Mother’s Day or some other day throughout the year. I don’t really enjoy being on the photo side of the camera, but I’m more comfortable with a family photo than just an individual photo of myself. Plus, being a mom is all about family! I used the Oh My Heart collection by Paige Evans to document one of our most recent family photos.
Things worked a bit differently for this layout than my usual routine. Our house has been a slight mess lately due to a bit of construction and new furniture changes. When I worked on this layout, all of my scrapbook supplies, printer, and computer were on the floor. I couldn’t use my sewing machine or die cut machine, so I had to find another way to add interest to the layout. I went with a patterned paper that had a diagonal design and included two different patterns. Then I fussy cut some of the gorgeous flowers from the collection to bring in some more color on the layout.
I worked with the diagonal line on the patterned paper to add my photo and title. I always like to mix embellishments on my layout, so I chose some of the puffy stickers, regular stickers, and chipboard pieces to create different dimensions and texture on the layout.
I really liked the balance of the fussy cut flowers with the polka dots, so I decided not to add anything to the left side of the layout. And I really didn’t need to, because the polka dot pattern did the work for me! I finished the layout with two of the manufacturer strips across the top and bottom of the layout for an extra pop of pink!
