6×6 Paper Pad: Wild Child Layout

Hey everyone! Paige Evans here today shine the light onĀ one of my favorite products: 6×6 Paper Pads! I love the miniature designs and of course all the COLORS!

On this layout I started by punching a 3/4″ square from every paper in the Oh My Heart, Take Me Away, and Fancy Free 6×6 Paper Pads. I ended up with around 100 little patterned paper squares – but don’t fret, with a punch they came into existence quickly!

Next I splashed some white acrylic paint across a black cardstock background. I don’t think I have ever used black as my background before! I LOVE how the colors POP off the page!

After the paint dried (with the help of a blow dryer) I found the center of the background and then placed the papers in a checkerboard fashion. It looked a little too “rigid” and uniform so I tried to randomize it a bit by filling in some of the gaps andĀ moving some of the squares around. I adhered each square in place with a little glue dot and definitely didn’t try to make them straight. I like the haphazard/handmade look!

Once the background was finished I came in with my photo then created the title, layered in some embellishments, and typed journaling. I was able to film the process so you can see exactly how this page came together:

I hope you are inspired to pull out your 6×6 paper pads and create fun and colorful backgrounds in minutes! See you again soon!
