The new Summer Lights collection is perfect for documenting summer memories, but you can also use it to create a fun card set! When it comes to cards I usually like to go with an easy, simple design. I thought it would be fun to limit my embellishments for the two cards I created today to see what I could come up with. I worked with the Summer Lights chipboard pieces on one of the cards and the Summer Lights stickers on the other.
I started with a 5.5×4.25 card base cut from white cardstock. Then I used paper from the 6×6 paper pad to cover both cards. I like using the 6×6 papers when I am creating cards because of the smaller pattern on the paper. I added some stitching to create texture on my Hello Weekend card. Then I chose several pieces from the chipboard stickers to embellish the front of the card. Talk about super easy!
On my second card, I created a free-form grid design with the Summer Lights stickers. Working with one type of embellishment took a lot of the guesswork out of my design process and the card came together in less than 10 minutes! I love all of the fun images in this collection and I used a variety of the sticker designs on my card front. I finished the card with some stitching through a couple of the stickers to add more interest to the card.
I hope you’ve found some inspiration today for using the new Summer Lights collection on your projects! Why not try the same technique of using one or two embellishment types on a layout too and see what you come up with!
