I always have a ton of summer photos to document every year! When I’m creating a summer layout I like to use bright colors and the Summer Lights collection has so many great colors and patterned papers for documenting your summer memories. I had an idea in my head of how I wanted this layout to come together and it turned out exactly the way I envisioned it!
Sometimes I love to use a lot of different patterned papers to create the background for my layout and this was one of those times! There are so many cute papers in this collection and since I couldn’t decide on just one to use, I decided to go with four patterns! I cut four of the 12×12 papers into triangles that would meet at the center of the layout. Once I had each of the papers in place, I used one of the washi tapes from the Summer Lights collection to cover the seams where the papers met. Then I machine stitched over the washi tape.
I wanted to contrast the bright colors from the collection so I cut my title from black cardstock. I wanted my title at the center of the layout so I placed it and then traced a large circle around the outside of the title. I thought it would be fun to use a mix of embellishments around a circle shape that would highlight the die cut title.
I placed my photo before starting on the embellishments then I alternated the die cuts, chipboard pieces, and stickers from the collection. When I use a mix of embellishments I like to vary the dimension so I used pop dots to adhere some of them to the layout. Once I had all of the embellishments in place, I stitched through the title to add some texture over the black cardstock.
I hope you’ve been inspired today with some ideas for documenting all of your summer memories this year!
