Hello everyone, it’s Zinia here and today I want to share with you a really fun summer-themed layout I created by mixing some of my favorite Pink Paislee collections.

The theme of this week is Summer and when I grabbed my supplies I saw this gorgeous hot pink chipboard piece with the word “summer” on it and I just had to use it for my title. As I went through the rest of my supplies, I realized how many square and rectangular elements there are in the Summer Lights collection so I decided to mix all of them and create a really playful messy grid.

The general idea was to create an organized chaos on my page. I wanted my elements to overlap and create a fun mosaic of different colors and patterns. So I gathered any rectangular elements I could find and started building my page. I chose to document a photo of our little kittens and their summer adventures. I placed my photo and the bigger elements down and I slowly moved to smaller embellishments, filling the empty spots as I went.

When I finished adding my Summer Lights bits, I decided to dig in my Take Me Away stash and find some different embellishments to add to this page. I pulled a few paperclips, buttons, and a suede bow just to add some more variety in the materials. I also love how the paperclips make the layout look like a messy desk.

It is such a fun design to create. You don’t need special products or advanced skills, just stick down pieces of paper and your favorite embellishments and make them look like a random pile of gorgeousness!
