Happy 4th of July! Do you have any plans for Independence Day tomorrow? Hopefully you’ll take time to snap a few photos of the patriotic festivities to document the day! The Pink Paislee Sweet Freedom collection is perfect for all of your 4th of July photos. I love the mix of red, white, and blue papers so I decided to use them for several die cut stars.
I cut the stars on my Silhouette Cameo at 4 inches. Before adding them to the layout, I machine stitched around each one. Then I arranged them in a staggered pattern on the background paper. I changed my photo to black & white so the colors wouldn’t compete with the colors in the Sweet Freedom collection. I really like the contrast of the black & white photo with the patriotic color scheme.
I always love layering embellishments so I chose a mix of the ephemera pieces, stickers, puffy stickers, and dimensional stars from the collection to add to the center of each of the stars. I adhered a few of the embellishments with pop dots to bring more dimension to the layout. Once I had all of my main elements in place, I used more of the puffy stickers and stickers from the collection to create a scattered look mixed between the large star shapes.
Make sure you have your camera on hand this 4th of July! If you don’t get the chance to snap photos of your 4th of July celebration, the Sweet Freedom collection is also great for documenting the veterans in your life or friends and family who are currently serving. I hope you and your family has a happy and safe holiday!
