Hello everyone! It’s Zinia here and this week we are working on projects featuring big titles. When I first started scrapbooking, titles were actually the hardest part for me. I struggled to make them work in my pages, but with time and practice I can honestly say that now I really enjoy thinking outside the box and creating fun and innovative titles on my pages. A title can definitely be the spotlight of your layout and today I’ll show you a page I created where my title is big in terms of size and length.
To create the first word of my title, I used the Mini Alphabet Punch Board by WeR Memory Keepers. I have used this tool on many pages before but this time I decided to try something different. Instead of cutting my paper to the needed size, I doubled the short edge. This way I can get the right size when I fold my paper in the middle.
Following the instructions from the booklet, I cut all the letters from these folded pieces of paper. It was a bit harder to punch but the tool handled the extra thickness just fine. I used different patterns for my letters but I made sure to include one piece from a 6×6 pad so that the paper is single sided and I have some white space to add my journaling in one of the letters. It’s a really cool way to add hidden journaling on your layouts.
To take this further, I continued adding more elements to my title to make it longer. I mixed a bunch of different products in a variety of materials to make it look even more interesting.
In terms of embellishing I tried to keep things relatively simple. I added a few layers behind my photo to help it pop and then I added some floral ephemera pieces around my title. I didn’t want to make it heavy and add distracting elements, I wanted all the focus to stay on the title.
I didn’t realize this as I was working on the page but I used three different collections on this layout. I always find it fascinating how beautifully everything works together. Even though Oh My Heart, Take Me Away, and Summer Lights are completely different, they can still create unique combinations that are absolutely amazing.
I really hope you got inspired to take your titles to the next level and experiment with some fun and creative ideas!
