School days are right around the corner and I’m sure you’re already planning out those first day of school photos! It’s always fun to document a new school year and to get those photos on a layout. Even though we homeschool, I still take photos of the kids for every new school year. I love seeing how much they change from year to year. So today I’m stopping in to share a Back to School layout with you using our photos from last school year.
Do you ever sit down to work on a layout and have a patterned paper that is exactly right for the type of layout you want to do? That’s what happened with this layout! I loved this cut apart paper and decided to use it for the full background instead of cutting it up. All of the sections were perfect for adding my photo and lots of different embellishments from Oh My Heart.
I placed my photo in the center of the layout to help it stand out more from everything that was going on in the background. And, I’ve been wanting to use the cute chipboard books from Oh My Heart and I knew this would be the perfect layout for it. I placed the books in some of the different sections around the page and I also used a couple of the punctuation Thickers to go in the fun thought bubbles.
The Paige Thickers also came in handy for my title. I intentionally placed them in a wonky design and also added pop dots under a few of the letters so I could overlap some of them. I love the dimension the pop dots and overlapping adds to the title. Once I had all of the embellishments and some stamping finished, I machine stitched around several of the divided areas for extra texture.
Do you have a back to school photo tradition? If so, I hope you’ve been inspired today with fun ways to document your back to school photos!
