Hello crafty friends! It’s Zinia here and today I want to share with you some fun beach/summer-themed cards I created with the Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection and a few extra bits.

I decided to create some shaker cards because I really wanted to use the lovely sequins and confetti mix that comes with the new Turn the Page collection so the first step was to die cut the shaker pieces. I made a square and a circle just to try them both and have some play with the whole composition.

The elements you need to create the shaker part are a solid piece of patterned paper (or cardstock) that covers the back, a solid piece of acetate to create the front window, an outline/border piece of paper to cover the adhesive, and the confetti mix that goes inside!

For the backing piece I chose some of the beautiful ombre seascape patterns from the 6×6 pad because they were subtle yet stunning. You don’t want to use a very busy pattern since you are going to add colorful confetti on top and things can get out of control.

For my shaker mix, I used the stars and hearts from the Turn the Page sequins pack but I wanted to add even more colors and shapes so I grabbed my Confetti Punch by We R Memory Keepers and punched out some cardstock scraps.

For the mermaid card I added an extra color of hot pink confetti in the circle shaker because it looked gorgeous with her bright pink hair.

To assemble the cards I used some pieces of patterned paper at the background and stuck the shaker elements on top. Then I started playing with some embellishments.

I kept the embellishments minimal because I wanted the shaker parts to be the star of the show. I used some chipboard pieces and phrase stickers as my card sentiments and that was it!

You should really give it a go and create some fun shaker cards with your favorite Pink Paislee supplies! I really hope you enjoyed this little project and you got inspired to make something gorgeous. Have a wonderful crafty day!

Great tutorial and your cards are adorable. So far shaker cards have defeated me, going to watch the video again-think this might get me on the right road.
