Hello everyone! It’s Enza, and today I’m kicking off 2×2 Paper Pads week with a fun layout that I really enjoyed making. I absolutely love this idea of the 2×2 Paper Pads included in the Turn the Page collection. They feature a miniature version of the bigger pattern papers that is totally adorable and very versatile, perfect to use with paper punches or to create geometric backgrounds, as embellishments, and even as pages for the tiniest mini album 😉
The layout I’m sharing today shows how you can easily use the 2×2 Paper Swatches to achieve a lovely mix of colors and patterns.
The choice of patterns was mostly based on color. I wanted to focus on the pink, teal, and gold hues in the collection, and also create a background that best showcased them. As soon as I saw this cut file from Just Nick I fell in love with it. It mimics the shape of the Paper Swatches, and adds a fun twist to it. I simply backed the openings with the selected papers to form two big corners. For the diagonal row in the middle section I just used vellum, as it brings softness and an added element of interest to the page. Everything was adhered down with foam dots for a bit of dimension.
I then built the layers behind my picture to include several patterned papers from the collection, fussy cut flowers, and Journaling Spots. The gold details are just gorgeous!!!
The banners on the right-hand side of the photos are from the cut apart sheet. I just punched tiny holes on the top to thread some twine through them and scattered various embellishments here and there to tie everything together. I like how the red elements add the right pop of color.
That is all for today, friends. I hope you enjoyed reading about my process and got inspired to use the 2×2 Paper Pads on your next layout. Have a lovely day!
