The embellishments from the Spellcast collection are perfect for creating a custom background! I used one of the patterned papers from the collection and mixed the embellishments to add a fun dimensional look to my layout. I placed my photo in the center first with pop dots to pop it off of the page. Then I fussy cut some of the flowers from one of the other patterned papers and spaced them around the photo.
After I had the flowers in place, I started looking through the chipboard and ephemera pieces. I wanted a balanced mix of the various embellishments to add interest to the layout. I tucked some of them under the edge of the photo to make it look like the photo was placed over all of the embellishments. This is kind of like a free-form grid design and it adds a fun look to your layout.
I used the Thickers from the collection for my title. I thought it would be fun to do a play on words for the title, to tie in Halloween and our daughter’s costume. And I love the gold look of the foam Thickers! You can use these for your Halloween layouts… or any layouts for that matter!
I hope you’ve found some ideas today for your Halloween layouts! If you’re like me, you like to snap plenty of photos on Halloween night, so make sure you get them off of your camera and onto a page!
