Hello everyone, it’s Zinia here and I’m back with another layout for you. This week we are creating projects around leaves and the first idea that came to me was to create a beautiful fall wreath for my page. Although I’m madly in love with wreaths and circle elements on my projects, I decided to go outside my comfort zone and try something different.
Inspired from a word art piece I saw on Pinterest, I created a cut file with abstract lines and cut it out of white cardstock. The idea was to fill the space behind those lines with a bunch of dimensional leaves.
I chose patterns from a mix of collections including Spellcast, Wild Child, and Turn the Page. This way I created a unique color palette with a nice mix of pinks and greens. I used my Silhouette once again to cut out a bunch of leaves from those patterns and then I rubbed them on my palm to make them a bit more dimensional.
Using my hot glue gun, I stuck the leaves on the right side of the page, just on the areas that would show through the openings of the cut file. Once that was done, I put the die cut panel on top of the leaves with some foam tape and dots and my base was ready.
Embellishing the page was a little bit tricky. Because I used a mix of different collections I had to narrow down my options in terms of embellishments to those items that only included the colors I used. The good thing is that all the collections have a huge selection of embellishments so I was able to pull a bunch of elements that matched beautifully.
I really hope you enjoyed this page and you got inspired to make something beautiful with your supplies. Push yourself outside your comfort zone and create a fun project using leaves or any other design you love!
