Hello everyone, it’s Zinia here and I’m back with another scrapbook layout. This week the theme is all about Thanksgiving. Although we don’t have such holiday where I live, I took this opportunity to create a page about family and how thankful I feel for everything related to it.
I really wanted a very warm and special feeling on this page, it’s actually very hard to translate it into words but I hope you can get an idea. I chose a very old photo of me and my great grandma and started building up my design.
I picked a cream based pattern for my background to add to that warmth that I wanted to achieve. To customize that pattern, I cut the hexagons from another pattern into little triangles. At first I wasn’t sure what to do with those triangles but after playing around with them for a while, I decided to create a bunch of rainbow bows all across the page.
I don’t know why but there’s something about the bow design that really feels like home. On top of every bow, I added a little button from the Take Me Away collection just to give it a more playful touch.
For the rest of my embellishing, I used a mix of stickers and chipboard as well as some gorgeous gold Thickers. After I created a lovely cluster around my photo, I felt like the top left corner needed a little bit of something. I tried a few different things but in the end I just decided to fold the corner of the paper and make another little cluster over there to balance the whole design.
I really hope you enjoyed this page and you got inspired to create something beautiful documenting all the things you are thankful for!
