Hello everyone, it’s Zinia here and today I have a couple of fun cards to share with you! For these cards, I specifically focused on creating interest with multiple layers of paper. It really doesn’t take a lot of effort to build a stunning design.
For the first card I created a tunnel effect by using nesting dies. You can also do this by using your electronic die cutting machine or any nesting dies you may have in your stash. The first step is to pick the colors and patterns for the card. Going from front to back, cut the same design in a slightly smaller size every time.
Once I had all my pieces cut, I decided to give a fun twist to my card and turn it into a shaker. To do that, I covered the biggest window with a piece of clear plastic and added foam tape at the back. I made sure the rest of the pieces were stuck together so the filling won’t get lost in between the layers.
I filled the card with my most favorite sequin mix from the Turn the Page collection and stuck everything together into one shaker panel. For the sentiment, I used a mix of Thickers and stickers with a lovely gold touch. The final step is to attach the panel onto a card base and voila, the first card is ready.
The second card also features fun paper layers. In my card I used 4 layers but you can definitely adjust the design and add more or less depending on your personal preference. Each layer needs to be a bit shorter than the previous one.
What makes this design special are the edges of each layer. Adding decorative borders with dies, an electronic die-cutting machine, border punches, or even decorative scissors will elevate the design and make it look unique and interesting.
To attach all the layers together I only added adhesive at the very top of each piece to let the bottom part loose to create more dimension. You can add the sentiment anywhere on the card but I chose to create a small cluster at the very top.
So these are my cards for today. I really hope you enjoyed them and got inspired to use your paper stash in fun and creative ways by building up interesting layers!
