Hey Pink Paislee friends, it’s Elsie here wrapping up the Children week on the blog. Have you heard of the expression “be the person you needed when you were younger”? It’s something I really try to be mindful of in my day-to-day life. And because I don’t have any children of my own, I decided to create a layout based on that phrase for this week’s theme and create a layout for my 7 year old self!
The Wild Child collection has loads of empowering words and phrases throughout it and they were a great inspiration for this page. And I was a big fan of the Spice Girls when I was younger, and one thing they taught me was all about ‘Girl Power’, so I had to build that phrase from the chipboard and die-cut embellishments and use it as my title.
There’s this idea that girls have to be the Princess who need a Prince to save them… But hey, this princess does her own rescuing! So I decided to paper-piece a little flying superhero caricature, along with pink hair and a yellow and purple superhero suit!
To make her look like she’s flying, I used the rainbow puffy sticker from Wild Child to tail behind her. Can you tell that I had so much fun creating this page?!
Remember: don’t be afraid to mix and match collections, even if their styles are vastly different. I used so many different Pink Paislee collections for this page and I’m happy, but can’t quite believe that they worked so well together! I used: Turn The Page, Oh My Heart, Take Me Away, Birthday Bash, Summer Lights and Wild Child. Phew! I told you it was a lot!
