Happy 2018 PP fans! 2017 is in the books and it’s time to look forward to all of the things that 2018 has in store! There are a lot of ways to document the New Year on your projects. My favorite type of layout for the New Year is one that documents a photo from each month of the previous year. We don’t really do anything special for New Year’s Eve because we would rather sleep than stay up late! HA! So this is a great way to reflect on what took place over the past year and to get excited about the new year.
I wanted to use the Turn the Page collection and have the fun bright colors mixed with black & white photos. It’s a good idea to use black & white photos for these types of layouts because it gives you a cohesive color scheme to work with and you can pair the photos with any collection I arranged the photos in a grid pattern and then stamped the date under each photo. Then I machine stitched between the photos to reinforce the look of the grid design.
I used the New Day Thickers and die cut dates for the title of the layout, adding the title above and below the photos. I love the way the split title balanced out the design of the layout. I finished the layout by adding a mix of embellishments. I used stickers, wood pieces, puffy stickers, and chipboard to embellish each of the photos on the layout. I didn’t need to use too much embellishing since I had a colorful patterned paper background and so many photos on the layout.
I hope you’ve found some inspiration today for documenting the New Year with your favorite Pink Paislee products!
