Enza Gudor: Quilt-Inspired Layout

A quilt-inspired design is all you need to incorporate lots of patterns and colors into your projects. @pinkpaislee @enzamg #ppturnthepage #scrapbooking #quilt

Hello PP friends! I have a new layout to share with you today. Quilt designs are always fun to recreate with paper. There are so many inspiring patterns out there and the combination of colors is often what gets me. I started browsing the Silhouette store and came across a cut file (Design ID #27405) that drew my attention immediately. It looked like a big, colorful flower with pointy petals and although I modified it to make my own version of it, it was definitely the starting point for my design. You definitely don’t need a cut file to recreate this pattern, but it sure saves you some time 😉

I used the Turn the Page 6×6 paper pad for all the petals. Each patterned paper was big enough to cut seven petals out of it. I wanted to incorporate as many colors and patterns as I could and make the circular shape look full and varied. I slightly overlapped the petals to add texture. Once the first layer was done, I decided to create a second one, this time leaving some space between the shapes.

I kept the rest of the layout pretty simple. The photo has a few layers of patterned paper behind it as well as some journaling tags that come in the collection. I also stapled die cut hearts together and placed them at the opposite corners of the photo. For the title, I adhered the “Moments” sentiment onto foam tape and added some ribbon underneath it before placing it on the page.

To complete the layout, I created two clusters, one in the top right and the other in bottom left corners of the page. I love how the rows of colorful butterflies bring all the colors together and add a soft and delicate touch to the page.
