Hello friends, it’s Zinia here and today is my very last layout here on the blog (at least for now ^_^). It’s been an amazing year and I’m so happy and grateful that I had the chance to share my work with you and inspire you to create beautiful projects using your Pink Paislee products. I wanted to say goodbye with a very special page but I couldn’t figure out what to do for a very long time. So in the end I decided to go back to my roots and create a quilt-inspired background.
I spent some time on Pinterest looking for quilt design ideas when I came across a really simple design with corners pointing to the middle. I thought that this was perfect because I can put my picture in the center and drive all the attention towards it.
The first step was to cut a bunch of 1” strips of patterned paper. I decided to use a pink and orange color palette with some pops of navy. I grabbed my scrap paper bin and made use of all the little scrap pieces I had before I go to my paper stash. I used patterns from the beautiful Turn the Page collection by Paige Evans.
Once I had all my strips stuck down on the background I started thinking about my embellishments. I could just go ahead and pull bits from the same collection in coordinating colors but I wanted to add a twist. So I decided to mix Turn the Page with a few embellishments from the Wild Child collection. The blue metallic details were perfect to complement the color palette I chose for this layout.
So I used some chipboard words for my title and also pulled out a few stickers, rub-ons, and ephemera. For extra dimension I also picked a few chipboard pieces and a layered paperclip from Turn the Page. I focused most of my embellishments around my photo but I also made two small clusters at the border of the page to keep everything nice and balanced.
As always I brought in some Color Shine splatters in Blush for a final shimmery touch. I really hope you enjoyed this layout and all the projects I shared with you throughout last year. It really brings me joy to share my creative ideas with you. Until next time, happy crafting <3.
