Hey guys, it’s Lisa on the blog today. I’m sooo excited to publish my very first blog post for Pink Paislee. It’s still unbelievable to me. I hope you like what I made!
To start this beautiful journey on this amazing team, I chose to make a layout that would really reflect my style. One of my favorite techniques is hand-stitching. I often choose super cute critters to do paper-piecing and then stitch around them. I also really love splattering colors on the layout, fussy-cutting flowers, and matting my picture on some layers of patterned paper. You can find all of those techniques in my layout.
To start this off, I drew the three bunnies on a white sheet of paper. I used the 6×6 Turn the Page paper pad to make the clothes and placed them on the bunnies. Then stitched around them, using grey thread and a bit of pink and white for the details. I then fussy-cut them out. I used different embellishments to make the bunnies even cuter. Puffy stickers, card stock stickers and fussy-cut flowers… all from the same collection.
For my background, I used a 12×12 white sheet of paper. I trimmed of about 1/4 off the edges and placed it on a teal patterned paper. Then I machine-stitched around the edges. I always love to have a border on my layouts, because it makes the whole layout stand out a lot more.
I did a bit of mixed media on the paper, just by splattering a bit of pink, teal and gold all around. I then placed my bunnies on the page. I matted my picture with some of the ephemera pieces from the TURN THE PAGE collection and place it on the bunnies. For the title, I used an ephemera piece saying “moments” and the thickers from the collection.
To finish everything, I fussy cut some flowers from a 12×12 patterned paper and used them, together with some ephemera pieces, all around the page.
