Tell us a little bit about yourself: I am a stay at home mom to two toddler boys. I am married to my best friend, Chris. We just bought a house in San Antonio after living almost my entire life in Seattle. It’s been quite the adventure getting to know our new city. We love visiting the farmers market and going on walks down along the San Antonio river. Also, football. (Living in Texas won’t stop me from cheering for my Seahawks.) Any and all of my free time is spent in my craft room.

How did you get started scrapbooking? A little over a year ago, my bestie convinced me to start. I spent a lot of time making cards and gifts for others and she felt my time would be better spent documenting my family’s memories. She even convinced me to start a YouTube channel with her. My 4th EVER layout is filmed and available to watch on YouTube. Although, I wouldn’t recommend it because it isn’t very good. Haha. I dabbled in a 6×8 format for December Daily 2016 (my first real scrapbook), then fell in love with pocket pages for awhile, but when we moved down to San Antonio I had a very strong pull towards 12×12 and that is where my heart has stayed.

What is your favorite Pink Paislee product? Favorite overall collection has been Oh My Heart. The colors, the theme, I love everything about it. But if we are just talking about a single product… then the 2×2 paper pads from Turn the Page completely stole the show for me. (I’m excited to see these in the Pick-Me-Up too!)

5 fun facts about you:
When I am asked what my favorite color is, I always say magenta… but it’s actually teal or navy blue.
2. I have worked at so many different jobs, but my favorite was being a flight attendant when I was 22.
3. One of my best friends lives in Toronto, Canada and we have actually never met in real life. It is on my bucket list to visit her at some point.
4. I had never been to Texas before we moved here in May 2017. But I’m already starting to say “y’all”.
5. I create something with paper (a layout, a piece of happy mail, a DIY embellishment) at least 5 times a week. It is rare for a day to go by without me spending time in my craft room.

Tiny Stories

I wanted to play off the popular wreath design with this layout. By using the same die cut on multiple papers, I was able to create a page with a ton of dimension and texture.

A fun way to create an interesting background is to play off a design already in the collection and recreating it with scraps of paper. I was inspired by a tag to create this cool geometric pattern background.

I love sending cards with an interactive element that serves as a gift that the recipient can use long after the card is gone. For this card I created embellishments that are also magnets which look adorable on any memo board!

Just Ducky

I love big titles! They are such a great way to make an impact on a page. I layered this title with fussy cut florals to add lots of interest and dimension.

Since I haven’t been scrapbooking for long, I love creating mini albums for those big moments I haven’t got around to scrapbooking yet…like my first son’s newborn photos!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and getting to know Kira Ness and seeing her beautiful creations!
