Hello again! It’s Jen Schow and I’m here to share another layout using the glorious Pick-Me-Up collection. I don’t know about you, but I’m loving the versatility and variety of colors represented and for this layout, I focused on the blues and greens.
Creating on a dark background is not really in my comfort zone, but I decided to push myself and I’m so glad I did! I used photos of my daughter and nephews crawling through a little tunnel and I thought it would be fun to create an impact by creating a circular shape with the Pick-Me-Up Alphabet Stamps.
I heat embossed the word “tunnel” over and over, mimicking the shape of a tunnel and I love how it came out! Because the stamps have a tiny dot on half of each letter, it gave a really cool distressed look when I embossed.
I added embellishment in a vertical line going through the photos. I stuck mostly to blues and greens, but added in just a touch of pink. I love adding that little pop to an otherwise monochromatic color scheme.
I added my journaling around my embossed spiral with a white pen and I really like the contrast between the bold, simple letters and my messy, scripty handwriting! I finished with a splattering of watered down white acrylic paint and gold mist along the vertical line of embellishment.
You can watch my process in the video below if you’d like to see how it all came together!
And here is another look at the completed layout…
I hope that you’re inspired to do something bold with your stamps! Thanks for stopping by!
