Hey guys, it’s Lisa and I’m back with another layout. This week is all about spring. Personally, I’ve been waiting for spring for ages it seems… winter was very cold and long here! And on March 20th, when spring officially began, the weather really wasn’t that great and it got worse again, so this layout is what I looked at the rest of March and beginning of April to get myself in a good mood, haha! And really it’s one of the most fun and happy layouts I’ve ever made!
To start, I drew a big circle on a white sheet of cardstock. I put the page under my sewing machine and stitched on the circle, using four or five different colors of thread. Then I used matching colors of mist and shimmer sprays and splattered those all around the circle.
I chose three super cute cut files in the Silhouette store: a butterfly, a ladybug, and a bee. I cut them out of patterned papers from Pick-Me-Up. I put them together and placed them on the circle using very thick foam squares so they would really pop out.
Then I matted my picture on different pieces of patterned papers from the 6×6 and 12×12 paper pad. The picture is me and my mom a few weeks ago when we visited Porto, Portugal. I placed it on the circle and then added some of the ephemera frames. I really love how the patterned papers and frames give this dimension.
I continued with the layout, fussy-cutting some of the flowers from the #2 patterned paper and butterflies from the #14 patterned paper. I added them around the picture and also some ephemera pieces and cardstock stickers.
Then I took all the hearts from the chipboard stickers and placed them on the circle in between the insects. I also used the chipboard sticker saying ‘good life’ as a title and placed it next to the picture.
To finish my layout, I trimmed the edges of the white page and placed it on paper #18 to create a frame for the layout. I really hope you like the page and it makes you as happy as me. Here’s the link to my process video:
