Hey there, PP fans! Welcome to “Pastels” week! Today I am bringing you a layout that is a mix of pastel colors and more vibrant shades. I used the beautiful Confetti Wishes collection, as well as some patterned papers from last year’s Summer Lights collection.
I decided to go with an ombre background – I love how the soft peach color turns into a rich, vibrant pink. I also knew I wanted to layer a floral cut file behind my photo, and those colors would be perfect for the flowers. I guess my idea was to not back all of the flowers of the cut file and just let the colors on the background paper do the job.
I used the Flower Frame cut file (ID #258545) by Paige Evans and “deconstructed” it a bit by fussy-cutting it and rearranging the different elements in a new shape. I backed some of the leaves with a green patterned paper from the Confetti Wishes collection and for some of the flower buds I used patterned paper from the Summer Lights collection, with its soft lilac and orange shades.
I created lots of layers behind my photo with papers, chipboard stickers, die-cuts, and puffy stickers. I tried to keep all the colors on the lighter side, but you can see that the darker green pops up here and there, bringing in contrast. Some smaller clusters frame the photo, as well as the die-cut piece I used as my title. I love the embellishments in the Confetti Wishes Cardmaking Kit; they are the perfect pastel color, so I included some of those as well.
To finish the layout, I created a frame with the Confetti Wishes Washi Tape and some gold splatters.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope I have inspired you to incorporate a mix of pastel and more vibrant colors on your next scrapbook layout.
