Hi friends, it’s Lisa on the blog today sharing a layout I made with the new, very beautiful collection Auburn Lane. The colors and style of the collection isn’t what I usually tend to use in my layouts but I managed to combine my style and the romantic feel of the collection. And I love how it turned out. I feel like you can’t really do anything wrong with those beautiful colors, patterns, and flowers.
To start this layout, I chose a very soft and beautiful pink patterned paper. It has a washed out/ombre effect that I really love. I chose a flower cut file that I cut out five times in different sizes. I backed them with different patterned papers and hand stitched around a couple of them.
The collection has rose and gold sequins that I absolutely wanted to use, but I wanted to use them in a different way than just sticking them to the page. So I created little flowers using 6 sequins and some thread and I placed them in the center of each of the cut file flowers.
I used a photo of me and my friend Cara that we took when I went to visit her. I matted it on different pieces of patterned paper from the 6×8 paper pad and added a phrase sticker for my title and also a cute little bunny sticker. Then I placed the big flowers on the page in a way that I liked with the picture in the middle.
To finish the layout, I punched out some tiny flowers from pieces of scrap paper and scattered them around the page along with black enamel dots and gold and black splatters of color.
and voilà… the layout was done! I really love how it turned out. If you want to see the process video, you can watch it here:
