The new Auburn Lane collection is the perfect combination of floral and Autumn. It feels perfect for fall, but I really feel like I can use it all year round! I love that there are a lot of “thankful” sentiments throughout the collection and that makes it perfect for creating cards.
I chose a die cut for the sentiment on my first card and chose a patterned paper from the 6×8 Paper Pad. Because those papers are single sided, they make a perfect card base. A standard card is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, so when you fold the paper in half, you just have to trim off half an inch on one side and you’re about half an inch short when you fold it in half.
I decided to have the front side of the card be a little shorter. I added a strip of another pattern on the inside of the card so the white wouldn’t show and created a place for the card to tie closed using a paper label from the die cut pack and some twine. I also added some washi tape, a few heart rub-ons, and some gold spray mist for bling-y finishing touches!
You can easily untie the twine to open the card and it’s a fun little feature.
The second card I made seriously took about 5 minutes. I started with a white card base and used a circular rub-on as a grounding element for my “Thanks” puffy sticker.
A few floral die cuts and a little doodling were all this card needed to feel complete! I love how quickly this came together and those florals sure have me swooning.
I created a short process video so you can see how these cards came together.
And here is another look at the final cards.
I am so glad to have a few thank you cards on hand because they are the ones that always get used first in my stash! I hope you’re inspired to take a few minutes and make a few yourself!
