This week is all about our moms. When documenting a picture with my mom I always like to use colors and a style I know she will like. So this time, I chose some cut files to start with but I couldn’t decide which one to use. So I sent a picture of all three to my mom and let her decide. She chose exactly the one I thought she would: the Flower Heart by Paige Evans
I started by backing all the flowers with 6 different patterned papers from the 6×8 paper pad. Then I chose a background paper and placed the cut file on it using foam squares. I hand cut out some leaf shapes and adhered them directly to the paper without taking care of where the leaf would fit exactly. I love the detail that this creates.
To mat my picture I used a patterned paper and the vellum sheet. The picture is from a few years ago when I went to New York with my mom and sister. We had a really good time and took this very happy photo in Central Park.
I then chose some of the flowers from the flower ephemera pack and placed a lot of them on the left side of the heart. For my title I used the beautiful floral Thickers. I wanted them to really stand out in front of that cut file and background paper, so I placed them on the same red patterned paper I used to mat my photo and then cut around the letters, leaving a border. I think that this really makes the title stand out. I used some ephemera hearts and puffy button stickers to embellish around the picture and heart wreath.
To finish I used a little bird I made some weeks ago for a layout but never used. I think it was PERFECT for this layout. So glad I made it and kept it!
