My sister and her family moved to Wisconsin for the summer and me and my daughter are having withdrawals from my adorable 3 & 4 year old nephews. I’m not usually a mini album maker, but I thought it would be fun to send the boys a little album with photos of them with us.
I cut a bunch of papers down to 4×6, including a piece of the gorgeous floral transparency from Pick-Me-Up to make a sturdy cover.
The album is chunky with bits poking out the top and side – just the way I like it! I used mostly 3×4 photos and embellished with a variety of stickers and die cuts from the Pick-Me-Up, Turn the Page, and Wild Child collections. Ready for photo overload? Here are the inside pages…
I created pockets out of some of the pages by adhering the bottom and sides of the paper or photo and leaving the top open. I know these cuties will love the interactive elements!
Adding little elements that I think will make them giggle – like this sideways hat on Denver’s head – was my favorite part of making the album!
Malia and I added little notes for them to find telling them how much we miss their cute faces! Again, I created a pocket with a scrap of paper and I used a 1″ circle punch to cut a half circle out of the top. I like the way it looks and it invites you to pull out what’s inside.
When I saw the “Made You Look” sticker, I had to add it to a pull out. I crack myself up. Haha!
One of my favorite (and simple) tricks was to use a cut apart sheet for one of my 4×6 papers. I simply chose a portion of the paper with two 3×4 cards and when I folded it in half and put it into my album I got one side with the card and the simple pattern on the back. (See the video for a better explanation!)
I slipped a few extra photos between the final pages with a little ribbon stapled to the top for a pull tab.
The “Miss You More” that I cut from a 2×2 Mini Swatch Pad was the perfect ending. You can get a closer look in the video!
I can’t wait to pop this into the mail (along with the gumballs I promised them)! Have you made a mini for the ones you miss the most?
