A Creative Way To Display Scrapbook Photos

Hey Pink Paislee fans, it’s Elsie here with a 12×12 layout using the Pick-Me-Up and Turn The Page collections! I love to try and experiment with a new design or technique with each layout I create, as it keeps me on my toes! So for today’s page I decided to inspire you to creatively display your photographs on your scrapbook layouts! Let me talk you through how I created this page…

elsie_pp_angel_1As you can see I’ve gone a little “old school” and cut out the background from my photo, so all that’s left is the person in the photo! I love the look of this as it not only makes my photo blend seamlessly into the design of the rest of my page, but it also adds a collage-y kind of style which I really enjoy!

elsie_pp_angel_4To pair with my photo I chose this Angel Wings cut file, cut it from white cardstock and then backed it with patterned papers in a rainbow order. I then placed the wings behind my photo and I love how fun and whimsical this looks! I also cut a little angel halo from yellow paper and placed that on my head to get the full angel effect 😉

elsie_pp_angel_5I also stitched in white thread around the entire cut file, because I love how much texture this adds. And I raised the wings and my photo up on some foam to give the illusion of them floating!

elsie_pp_angel_3And to embellish I fussy-cut some of the butterflies from a Turn the Page paper and I arranged them on the layout according to the colours of the wings. So for example, the red butterflies went on or around the red section of the wings. I love to create with a tone-on-tone technique!

elsie_pp_angel_2Thanks for stopping by folks; I hope you’re inspired to get a little creative with your scrapbook photographs!

Have a great week!1Elsie Robinson - blog badge(1)
